Basic Information

The mission of Argentinian Journal of Respiratory & Physical Therapy (AJRPT), as a means for disseminating scientific research on respiratory and physical therapy, is to promote the continuing professional development of respiratory and physical therapists and other health professionals worldwide. AJRPT is an independent, non-profit publication by the "Asociación Civil Científica de Difusión y Promoción de la Kinesiología" (I.G.J. 1968240, File no. 9245026, Regulation no. 722) and supported by the following Physycal Therapy Associations: Asociación Argentina de Kinesiología, Colegio de Kinesiólogos de la Provincia de Buenos Aires, Colegio de Kinesiólogos y Fisioterapeutas de Catamarca, Universidad de Flores (UFLO), and Asociación de Kinesiología del Deporte

Each journal issue presents research articles in the field of respiratory and physical therapy, including clinical trials —basic or applied—, on the evaluation, prevention, and treatment of respiratory and motor disorders.

AJRPT does not charge authors any submission or publication fees and provides open access to all its content. Access to its content is free and open. The average time between receiving a contribution and its publication is between 8 and 10 weeks. The journal accepts contributions in English and Spanish language.

Frequency: AJRPT is published on a four-month basis in March, July, and November.

AJRPT adopts an open access policy since it considers that both scientific publications and publicly-funded research should be freely available on the Internet, free of charge or restrictions. As an open-access journal, all its content is freely available without any embargo period.

Digital preservation policy

The journal uses the Open Journal System (OJS), which is compatible with the LOCKSS (Lots of Coples Keep Stuff Safe) system that guarantees the journal permanent and secure archives.
You can consult the journal's LOCKSS publication manifest here. Deposit to it is through the PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN), which deposits content using the LOCKSS Program, which offers decentralized and distributed preservation. This allows journals that are not part of any other digital preservation service (such as CLOCKSS or Portico) the ability to be preserved for long-term access.
Additionally, our identifier policy allows all metadata to be backed up in Crossref, as you can see in this link.

Persistent identifier policy

All articles and issues published by AJRPT have a DOI (Digital Object Identifier) that guarantees permanent access to the articles, thanks to the registration, tracking and constant monitoring of metadata. Each DOI identifier is generated by Crossref through the OJS (Open Journal Systems) manager. To ensure its functionality, the DOI is always displayed as a complete URL link, both in the presentation of articles and issues of the journal, as well as in the corresponding galleys.

AJRPT also actively participates by depositing references in Crossref through the Cited-By program.

At AJRPT we also use ORCID iD, which will be mandatory from 2023 for author registration. This is a persistent identifier that distinguishes authors from other researchers, facilitates recognition of their contributions and reduces the possibility of error in their registration. This identifier is requested by the authors themselves through the website of ORCID, a global non-profit organization that promotes the transparent exchange of information.

AJRPT accepts advertising on its website and this is also part of the funding necessary for the operation of the journal.
