Instructions to authors

 

Scope and policy

 

The Journal of the Association of Orthopedics yTraumatología Argentina (AAOT) exclusively publishes communications and stories (both unpublished) read in the scientific sessions of the AAOT, unpublished work also provided by the companies and members of Association chapters, the work and communications of the congresses of the AAOT and papers submitted for possible publication.
The Editorial Board selected the work and sends it anonymously to peer review (refereed), those who accept with modifications or not, or reject.
The Editorial Board refers to the authors already accepted jobs that need corrections and reserves the right to publish them in full or summarized. The papers presented at the scientific sessions of the AAOT not selected for publication in the Journal will complete published as abstracts.
The AAOT not responsible for the ideas expressed by the authors or advertisers in the magazine.
All authors of articles submitted for publication in the Journal should sign the letter referred to the transfer of copyright.

 

 

Form and preparation of manuscripts

 

According to the Uniform Requirements for Manuscripts Submitted to Biomedical Journals published by the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors in Vancouver (October 2007), available at http://www.icmje.org/, authors should use the following style Publication:

The first page or title page should include:
• Title, short and precise, with a clear indication of the subject and its English translation (to be indexed).
• The subtitle, if applicable.
• The full names of the authors (generally accepted to five authors). Annexed phones or emails each and full details (postal address, telephone, fax or email) the author of reference where send correspondence.
• The / the establishment / s care / is where the study was conducted.
• Sources of support received in the form of grants, equipment, drugs or all of them.

The second page will include:
• A summary in Castilian and one translated into English of 200 words divided into Introduction (which will state the purpose of study or research), Materials and Methods (basic procedures), results (key findings) and conclusions. The case presentations and work for sections and Instruction Update graduate orthopedic abstracts are not.
• The title in English.
• At the bottom of the page will be made 3 to 10 key words (lexemes) in Spanish and English. He used the terms "Medical Subject Headings" the Index Medicus.

On the third page begins the text itself.
The manuscript should not be mentioning full names or initials of the authors nor the institution where the study was conducted. Also, avoid any identification / os patient / s (eg., Names, initials), both in pictures and in writing.

The magazine published the text corresponding to 10 (ten) pages A4 size (21 x 29 cm), typed double-spaced with 3 cm margins in Times New Roman 12. The text consists of:
The Introduction, which will establish the problem and the specific purpose of the study. It may include a brief review of the literature, which will be discussed further in the "Discussion".
Materials and methods used, the casuistry and statistical study, the surgical techniques, in precise detail, the statistical methods used, the drugs and doses of administration.
The results obtained in detail. The results obtained with less than two years of follow generally not accepted.
The talk, which will highlight new and important aspects of the study and the conclusions derived from them, relating them to the observations of other relevant studies.
The bibliography will be limited exclusively to the citations mentioned in the text, which will lead to his side with the number appearing on the final list ordered alphabetically by author under the Rules of Vancouver (October 2007), examples of which are available for both in http://www.nlm.nih.gov/bsd/uniform_requirements.html as the Secretariat of the Publications Committee of the AAOT. The bibliography must contain at least three (3) references Argentine.
References to articles in periodicals should follow the following bibliographic standards and typography, for example:
Halpern SD, Ubel PA, Caplan AL, et al. Solid-organ transplantation in HIV-infected patients. N Engl J Med 2002; 347:284-7.
Abbreviations of journals follow the recommendations of the World List of Scientific Periodicals.
The book chapters are recorded as follows:
Meltzer PS, Kallioniemi A, Trent JM. Chromosome Alterations in human solid tumors. In: Vogelstein B, Kinzler KW, editors. The genetic basis of human cancer. New York: McGraw-Hill, 2002. p. 93-113.
Digital illustrations will be accepted at the highest resolution and sharpness possible (no less than 300 dpi) and grayscale TIFF or JPEG format. Must be properly identified and listed (eg. 1.tif Figure, Figure 2A.tif) and have a size no smaller than 10 x 15 cm. The legends (captions) accompanying illustrations should be submitted typed on a separate sheet.
The tables and charts or graphics must be submitted on a separate sheet and be referenced in the text with its own title and order number for identification and orientation.
They must submit a hard copy and a diskette or CD in Word format (any version).
The Editorial Board is authorized to resolve each situation not covered by these Regulations.

 

 

Sending of manuscripts

 

The new editorial process, from submission to acceptance of manuscripts submitted, is through Editorial Manager OJS (Open Journal System).

OJS is an acronym for Open Journal System is, open publishing system. It is developing an initiative of the Public Knowledge Project at the University of British Columbia in Canada (http://pkp.sfu.ca/). This software is a comprehensive electronic publication that covers all aspects involved in the editing process: starting with the creation of the Web site, sending articles by authors, peer review, editing, publishing and indexing a magazine.

Authors should upload their work to the web http://ojs.aaot.org.ar and from there can continue their work at each stage of the editorial process, allowing them to interact throughout the process.

The advantages and benefits to authors of our journal are numerous. Avoid delays and make the review process more transparent to the authors. By using the electronic submission system authors can continue their work and see where you are at every stage of the editorial process, allowing them to interact throughout the process.
