Abstract

ORDONEZ, María de los Ángeles  and  HUERTA, Guadalupe. Peasant strategies of (re)existence: the experience of “Nuestras Granjas Unidas” in Pampa de Pocho, Córdoba, Argentina. Trab. soc. [online]. 2023, vol.24, n.41, pp.97-122.  Epub July 01, 2023. ISSN 1514-6871.

The expansion of capital from the advance of the agribusiness frontier on territories that were not incorporated into this production system implies processes of accumulation by spoliation (Harvey, 2003) and dispossession (Ojeda, 2016). The northwestern arc of the province of Córdoba (Argentina) is an example of this advancement process (Decándido, 2019; Salizzi, 2019; Maggi, 2015; Preda, 2015; Cáceres et al., 2010). In this case we intend to look at one of the sub regions that make up this provincial sector: Pampa de Pocho. For this reason, we aim to carry out an analysis that enables an understanding of the transformations of the productive structures of the subregion studied in the last 30 years based on statistical data and a review of previous publications.

Based on the experience of the community work group "Nuestras Granjas Unidas" (NGU), we carried out an analysis of the strategies of resistance and (re) existence (Porto Gonçalves, 2009) that families of the peasant rural habitat put into play in a context where multiple territorialities coexist intersected by tensions, contradictions and conflicts. This organization deploys multiple strategies to improve the position from which they can influence the production and reproduction of the territory and of themselves as social subjects.
