Abstract

RAMOS, S.O. Efecto de insecticidas sobre la formación y desarrollo de las agallas de leptocybe invasa en eucaliptos. FAVE. Secc. Cienc. agrar. [online]. 2015, vol.14, n.2. ISSN 1666-7719.

The gall wasp is a major pest of eucalyptus worldwide. The wasp causes galls on young tissues of several eucalypts species affecting normal sprouting. The gall wasp has widely spread to cultivated region in Argentina. In this paper, the formation and development of the guts in seedlings treated with three insecticides (A, C and I) applied every two to three weeks (1, 2 and 3) a fixed dose was evaluated. Temporal evolution of the gall stage; percentage of plants with galls on stage 5; percentage of branches with galls and severity was evaluated. A1 and A2 treatments had the lowest gall developments and not adults emerged. The percentage of branches with galls to A1, A2, C1 and I1 was significantly lower than the control. The severity was similar except I1 which did not differ significantly from control.

Keywords : Gall wasp; Chemical control; Systemic insecticides; Dose; Application rate.
