Abstract

OITTANA, Leonardo. La desaparición de lo real o el éxtasis de la comunicación. Trama comun. [online]. 2013, vol.17, n.2, pp.255-269. ISSN 1668-5628.

Postindustrial societies are highly mediated societies. Communication and information play a leading role in it, remarkable, decisive. Against this background, we turn to the Jean Baudillard s thought , watching the situation of social and cultural change brought about by the advancement and perfection of techniques of communication and perception. We will emphasize Baudrillard's theory according to which societies are governed by the principle of simulation, which takes precedence over the principle of production of the industrial era and the beginning of forgery which claimed the classical period. The third-order simulacra are imposed: the system, according to Baudrillard, begins to spin. Everything is put into its orbit. The drills are ahead of the facts: the media create the event. Thus, the real is no longer just an object of representation, it is now the subject of looping, infinite. The reality is dissipated, is volatilized by excess. The loss of reference is parallel to the progressive dematerialization of the social. It seems that the ecstasy of communication leads to the disappearance of the real subject.

Keywords : Baudrillard; Communication; Culture; Simulation; Hyper-realism.
