Abstract

ROYO, Amelia  and  GUZMAN PINEDO, Martina. The weave of speech "noncficcional" in the writing of Tomas E. Martinez. Cuad. Fac. Humanid. Cienc. Soc., Univ. Nac. Jujuy [online]. 2001, n.16, pp.149-157. ISSN 1668-8104.

The interwaving of non-fictional discourse in Tomás E. Martinez's writing. This abstract intends figuring out the meaning of the non.fictional interweaving that comes from the assembling of journal interviews in the present Argentine novel. This type or writing shows conflicting aspects: its proximity in time and controversial characters. Then, it is necessary that the novelist adopts new estrategies and the criticism, new reading perspectives. Tomás Eloy Martinez's case as literature producer about Perón and Evita leads to considerer the complexity of the narrative techniques that result in "historical objectivity". As regards the results, it can be said that both La novela de Perón (1985) and Santa Evita (1995) function as a textual surface on which it is possible to read different aspects of the national culture -many times against of an Europenized country- and thus, closer to Latin America.
