Abstract

This article describes and analyzes a set of bridal links reported between the years 1869 and 1899, corresponding to the rural villages that make up the current Department Valle Grande in Jujuy Province. From a methodological perspective based on the analysis of social networks (ARS), information about conjugal unions was ordered to having as main reference surnames spouses, then graph links between them and the main attributes arising from present network ties. Towards end of the work, once exposed the reticular analysis of data processed through the software UCINET, analyzes a series of categories that constitute the central themes for socio-cultural analysis linked to kinship studies such as: inbreeding, place of residence, the inbreeding of village and the limits between endogamy / exogamy.             Finally, the conclusions of the study, sets out possible analytical lines based on the formal analysis of social networks as a valid methodological alternative for the characterization of marriage ties, referential names and networks of spatial mobility among the inhabitants of Valle Grande towards the end of the 19th century.
