Abstract

OLIVARES, Julián. The focus of the curricular designs of the secondary education of youth and adults in the province of Buenos Aires throughout the decades. Cuad. Fac. Humanid. Cienc. Soc., Univ. Nac. Jujuy [online]. 2022, n.62, pp.201-226. ISSN 1668-8104.

The article proposes to answer whether, as has usually happened with the rest of secondary education worldwide, the expansion of secondary education for youth and adults in the province of Buenos Aires during the last decades has gone hand in hand with the creation of schooling proposals with a generalist profile (focused on the transmission of universal knowledge). In this sense, although the modality has had a remarkable growth in recent history, its study plans have not been investigated in depth, leaving the question pending about the focus that has characterized them. Seeking to answer this question, from a quantitative methodology the different curricular designs of the main offers of secondary education for young people and adults that were created from the 1970s to the 2010s in the province of Buenos Aires (jurisdiction in which these have had greater development) are analyzed. The conclusion reached is that in that province the curricular designs of the secondary school for youth and adults have also focused on a general education, above another of a particularist-professional type
