Abstract

BENTANCOR, Milton H.. Teacher: Our task is not to teach. Enfoques [online]. 2023, vol.35, n.1, pp.29-50. ISSN 1669-2721.

In this article, our wish is to reflect on a crucial point of our educational reality: if we do not change our teaching mindset, if we do not modify our work as teachers, the gap between social reality and the crystal bubble we have converted learning centers, schools, colleges and universities into will be bigger and bigger. With a situation such as we put raise, it is not difficult to understand some of the reasons why students do not achieve the academic results that we wish as teachers and, in a high percentage (30 % according to internal data of the university) change course or -unfortunately- drop out of the educational process. Transformation -necessary and required- must begin with us; we can not demand it from our students, since it is our responsibility to make their learning significant.

Keywords : Education; Teaching; Learning; Evaluation; Inductive methodologies; Teacher; Student.
