Abstract

DOMINGUEZ RUBIO, Lucas. Birth and Stabilization of a Catholic Philosophical Historiography in Argentina: 1910-1955. Estud. filos. práct. hist. ideas [online]. 2021, vol.23, n.1, pp.1-22. ISSN 1851-9490.

The historiographic hypotheses of Furlong's, Caturelli's and Farré's production must be traced back in a serie of philosophical journals that prompted a remarkable volume of writing on the subject: Arx (Córdoba, 1932-1938), Sol y Luna (Buenos Aires, 1938-1943), Stromata (1938-), Diálogo (Buenos Aires, 1954-1955), Sapientia (La Plata, 1946-) and Arqué (Córdoba, 1952-1982). The first confessional journals of philosophy, their main mentors and the institutions they animated shows their historiographic production and allows us to identify their main hypotheses that they proposed in order to offer a philosophical reading of Argentine history. The aim of this article is to identify personal trajectories, journals and historiographic theses linked to the Argentinian Thomism.

Keywords : Argentine Philosophical History; Catholic Philosophy in Argentina; Thomism in Argentina; Nationalism; History of Historiography.
