Abstract

DOVIO, Mariana Angela. El caso de la "mala vida" en la Revista de Criminología, Psiquiatría y  Medicina Legal (1914-1927) en Buenos Aires: Entre la peligrosidad y la prevención. Rev. hist. derecho [online]. 2012, n.43, pp.01-29. ISSN 1853-1784.

The aim of this work is to describe the construction of the notion of "low life" in the Review of Criminology, Psychiatry and Legal Medicine in Buenos Aires between 1914 and 1927, while it was edited by Helvio Fernandez. For these purpose we will present the Review of Criminology, who wrote, which were the sections and the types of discourses that appeared. We consider the importance of this publication because it was unscripted on the cultural project of the positivism. We include in the "low life" those behaviors between the crime and the madness. For its study we recovered the categories of prevention and dangerousness. The first one we understand is related with the identification, moral and physical of those that could potentially damage the social body. The second is related with different technologies of government from de Higienism and Eugenics like the preventive lock up of alcoholics and vagrants considered "degenerate".

Keywords : "Low Life"; Prevention; Dangerousness; Positivism; Social control.
