Abstract

RAMIREZ BELTRAN, Julián. An image about the marronage. The question of political obligation. Cuyo-anu. filos. argent. am. [online]. 2023, vol.40, n.1, pp.129-172.  Epub Sep 11, 2023. ISSN 1853-3175.

The colonial period not only represents the distant sediments of violence and subjugation that sustained the Spanish empire. In this historical horizon, we will also find a set of concepts and political ideas of subaltern groups that were immersed in practices of domination. The purpose of the article is to analyze the problem of political authority between the maroon groups led by Don Alonso de Illescas and the colonial one. It will be concluded that an understanding of the colonial system implies accounting for the moments in which enslaved subjects enter to negotiate, generate agreements and seek a government link with the colonial authorities.

Keywords : consent; race; power; history.
