Abstract

BIRCHE, Mariana. Quality and urban coverage of the Public Spaces System in La Plata. Analysis and proposals for its management in the city. Estudios Socioterritoriales [online]. 2021, vol.29, pp.81-81. ISSN 1853-4392.  http://dx.doi.org/10.37838/unicen/est.29-212.

The present work aims to analyze the system of public spaces in the city of La Plata from the perspective of the landscape. Building knowledge that enables the improvement of these key spaces for urban life is increasingly necessary in urban settings of growing social conflicts. In this sense, landscape as a category of analysis is positioned as a tool for developing new criteria for improving public spaces. The categories of green spaces, road spaces and centralities are analyzed and management and design strategies are built. For this, the methodology proposes a systemic approach and integrates quantitative, qualitative and spatial methods that allow obtaining strategic places of intervention and making visible new possible designs and methods for the production of an accessible and better quality public space.
