Abstract

CABRE, Pilar Guadalupe. Multiterritoriality of Qom Community Las Lomas in Santa Fe city. Estudios Socioterritoriales [online]. 2021, vol.29, pp.83-83. ISSN 1853-4392.  http://dx.doi.org/10.37838/unicen/est.29-214.

According to the last national census, the qom ethnic represents the most populous indigenous group in Argentina. More than 80% of these people live in urban areas. The majority of them are in the peripheries of metropolitan areas. In the particular case of Santa Fe city, they are located in the place denominated as “marginal west edge”. Considering the environment’s socio-economic particularities and re-building the story of indigenous migrant subject in urban areas, in this article I inquire about the ways indigenous people of the Las Lomas Community build and exercise their territoriality in the city. In order to answer this we used qualitative methodology based on in-depth interviews to key and occasional informants.

Keywords : Qom; Indigenous; Santa Fe; Territory.
