Abstract

PANIZO, Laura. The war felt: ritual symbols among some relatives and former soldiers of the Falklands War. Soc. relig. [online]. 2016, vol.26, n.46, pp.84-113. ISSN 1853-7081.

Based on the experience of a group of former soldiers and a group of relatives of the Fallen in the Malvinas’ War in this article we see through the staging of different symbols like the “doll staking” and the Lujan Virgin, different beliefs and ways of remembering are expressed, feel, revive, represent those traumatic events or those experiences loss. Thus, through fieldwork including interviews with veterans and family and from a perspective that focuses on ritual symbols and performance, we will see how, they have different ways of interpreting and feel what happened in recent history.
