Abstract

MARIN ALARCON, Nelson  and  BAHAMONDES GONZALEZ, Luis Andrés. Addictions, Disciplining and Prison Pentecostalism in Chile: Reflections to start a Discussion. Soc. relig. [online]. 2017, vol.27, n.48, pp.214-236. ISSN 1853-7081.

This article seeks to understand the problem of drug and alcohol addictions, from a Pentecostal approach in prison in one of the public prisons of Santiago de Chile. Through the analysis of the testimonies collected between the years 2012, 2013 and 2015, we sought to characterize the representation of the Pentecostal world about addictive behaviors and how they are treated through many strategies in a context of confinement.

Keywords : Drugs; Addictions; Pentecostalism; Prison; Chile.
