Abstract
NACHON RAMIREZ, Mercedes; SETTON, Damian and AMEIGEIRAS, Aldo. Beliefs, belongings, changes. Soc. relig. [online]. 2020, vol.30, n.55, pp.133-133. ISSN 0326-9795.
For years, sociologists of religion have been inquiring about beliefs, belongings, and change. Religious pluralism, the crisis of institutionalized authorities and the development of a religious market, have led to several changes in religious subjectivity. The concept of spirituality and its growing centrality reflects not only changes in the religious field but in the sociologists’ analytical toolkit. This paper offers quantitative data on the religious beliefs of the population of Argentina, inquiring about the relationship between religion and spirituality, the sacred entities individuals believe on, the meaning of believing in God, the kind of tie that exists between individuals and God, mediations between individuals and God, the ways individuals adhere to their religion and, finally, religious changes.
Keywords : religious beliefs; spirituality; religious belonging; Argentina.
