Summary: The identification of samples from theHerbarium Pedersenianumdeposited at CTES allowed us to account for a new species for science,Oxypetalum timbenseH. A. Keller (Apocynaceae), from a specimen collected by Karner Hagelund in southern Brazil in 1977. The new species is described and illustrated, moreover differences and similarities with related species are discussed, especially withO. appendiculatumMart., with which it has more affinity.
