Abstract

MENENDEZ, María Cristina. Is political communication changing between lawmakers and citizens?: An analysis of how Internet is being used by politicians today. Temas debates (En línea) [online]. 2014, n.27, pp.75-98. ISSN 1853-984X.

The paper analyzes the use of new technologies of information and Communications as political tools, and the emergence of smart mobs connected online. These are presented as a new phenomenon that is transforming the political and social relations as well as changing public space and political behavior by mutation of the physical space in a space of flows and a real-time in the timeless time. It makes a theoretical exploration about the use of the Web and the social networks (Facebook, Twitter and blogs). Their main objective is to analyze and describe the use of these new tools in the Argentine case study about online political communication between legislative representatives and citizens.
