Abstract

DE OLIVEIRA DE CASTRO, Henrique Carlos; RANINCHESKI, Sonia  and  CAPISTRANO, Daniel. The content of gobalization for Latin Americans: an analysis from the world values surveyworld survey. Temas debates (En línea) [online]. 2015, n.29, pp.53-76. ISSN 1853-984X.

The main goal of this paper is to compare political values and points of view of the Latin Americans citizens on issues related to globalization. The paper assumes that the sense of local and national feelings of the Latin American societies are quite different; it is relevant therefore to understand in what conditions it is possible to talk about the predominance of global values. In order to do that, we have conducted a longitudinal study using empirical data from the World Values Survey in several Latin American countries. The theoretical discussion used the concepts of globalization and "glocalization".

Keywords : Globalization; Glocalization; World Values Survey; Latin America.
