Abstract

CASASOLA, María Soledad. Covid-19: Science Communication from Uncertainty. Temas debates (En línea) [online]. 2020, n.40, suppl.1, pp.159-164. ISSN 1853-984X.

The irruption of the Covid-19 pandemic on the world stage generated unknowns, marches and counter marches both in the scientific and communicational fields. The traditional model of scientific dissemination, based on the transmission of proven results, in some cases became insufficient to account for the communication processes required during those months. The new coronavirus presented unique characteristics for whose treatment and cure there were no medications or vaccines, and the communication of the investigations made visible the progress along with its controversies and debates. The work raises the reflections generated from the need to communicate sciences from a dialogic perspective with society and from the public university in a context of uncertainty.

Keywords : Science communication; Scientific disclosure; Covid-19; Controversies; Science; Technology; Society; Dialogic communication; Public university.
