Abstract

COMBA, Silvana  and  TOLEDO, Edgardo. Studying and Teaching in the Platform Society during the Pandemic. Temas debates (En línea) [online]. 2020, n.40, suppl.1, pp.167-174. ISSN 1853-984X.

The purpose of this article is to think about information consumption in the present media ecology, particularly in the context of this unprecedented pandemic. The approach is based on our daily teaching and researching experience at university, with social communication students. The essay also aims at taking up the challenge of imagining how to teach, know and act in these new scenarios mediated by platforms. In our platform society, with so many screens at the heart of knowing practices, sense making operations take particular ways. The social sphere always takes part in the cognitive dimension. And both factors constantly influence each other in a dialectic relationship that is dynamic, by its very nature.

Keywords : Communication; Platform society; Knowing practices; Education; Pandemic.
