Abstract

CALDERON, Emilse. South American Militarism Behind the Veil of Covid-19 . Temas debates (En línea) [online]. 2020, n.40, suppl.1, pp.397-406. ISSN 1853-984X.

Militarism as a trend in South America, progressively deployed in the post-cold war and with more notoriety during the 21st century, accelerated in 2019. Faced with the situation set up by Covid-19, it is necessary to ask ourselves about the impact that the call made by governments to the military to address the health crisis caused by the pandemic. This article contextualizes militarism as a tendency to understand this potential impact.
