Abstract

CRAVIOTTI, Clara. Fostering local food systems: Implications and controversies of local food sourcing policies. Temas debates (En línea) [online]. 2022, n.44, pp.137-157. ISSN 1853-984X.

For some years now, it takes hold, both in the academic and political realm, the idea-force of strengthening local supply systems as a proposal aimed at the transformation of the hegemonic agri-food system. This idea recognizes several conceptual and empirical backgrounds, not only at the international level but also in Argentina, gaining momentum by the end of 2019 within the framework of the programs framed in the Plan Argentina against Hunger and other governmental actions. The purpose of this article is to trace a conceptual itinerary of the topic, as well as to consider some of the instruments implemented during the biennium 2020-2021, identifying the potentialities and debates they raise.

Keywords : public policies; alternative food circuits; local agri-food systems; family farming; social economy.
