Abstract
SOMOHANO FERNANDEZ, Abel and PENA SERRET, Daniel. Percepciones sobre autonomía y condiciones extramediáticas del ejercicio profesional en periodistas de medios nativos digitales en México y Cuba. Intersecc. comun. (En línea) [online]. 2023, vol.2, n.17, pp.1-1. ISSN 2250-4184. http://dx.doi.org/https://doi.org/10.51385/ic.v2i17.179.
The article aims to analyze perceptions of autonomy and the extramedial conditions in the professional practice of journalists in digital native media in Mexico and Cuba. The research takes a qualitative and exploratory perspective, with in-depth interviews as the fundamental technique. It is concluded that the perceptions of autonomy among the professionals in the studied media outlets materialize in an identification of organic integration between their own interests and the organizations to which they belong. Simultaneously, perceptions of extramedial conditions are expressed in terms of determining variable influence, self-recognition, and distinction. The interviewees highlighted external conditions in their professional practice, such as hostile political discourse and actions, the resistance of government information sources to cooperate, and, in some responses, the indirect influence of funding sources on the agenda of one of the media outlets.
