Abstract

TORRE, Patricia De La  and  CALABRESE, Daiana. Teatro x la Memoria in a play: Después del agua by Sonnia de Monte. CELEHIS [online]. 2021, n.42, pp.81-90. ISSN 2313-9463.

We approached this paper, realizing about the interpellation in which Argentine theater was put through, in order to construct a category that required a historiographic look, to grasp and read the still very fresh memories of the times of the military dictatorship of '76 as the only testimony of existence. Thus Teatro x la memoria was created, also called Theater for identity, in which, through their productions, playwrights, directors, actors, and the audiovisual universe, have put the Nunca Más to operate in this particular aesthetic. Regarding our work, it is about a playwright who began to teatrar, (Mauricio Kartun definition) as an intention to contribute to Art and to the future conformation of society, bringing to the present what had happened during the military dictatorship, so that precisely, it would never be forgotten. We delimited the territory in Mendoza and we focused on carrying out an analysis from the text Después del Agua by Sonnia de Monte, mendocinan playwright, teacher, theater director, exiled within the country. She proposes a dialogue in a liminal space between theatrical language and society, between the living and the disappeared, between the actors and the spectators, between fiction and reality.

Keywords : Dictatorship; Missing; Mendoza; Liminality; Memory.
