Abstract

KOSS, María Natacha. William Shakespeare en el imaginario grotesco de la modernidad. CELEHIS [online]. 2023, n.46, pp.2-2. ISSN 2313-9463.

This paper ˗as well as all those that make up this dossier˗ is part of the UBACyT research project “Imaginaries and grotesque humor. European Theatricalities and the World War I”, which is under my direction. In this article, then, we will develop some notions regarding the modern Grotesque, its relationship with humor, its link with the horror of the continuous warfare of the late 19th and early 20th centuries, and its imaginary construction based on the Shakespearean model that claims Victor Hugo for the production of romanticism and its successive poetics of subjectivity.

Keywords : Grotesque; imaginary; humor; Shakespeare; modernity.
