Abstract

BRICENO MONZON, Claudio Alberto. A 40 años de un conflicto que cambió la visión de América Latina: la solidaridad persistente de Venezuela con Argentina en la reclamación sobre las Islas del Atlántico Sur. Relac. int. [online]. 2022, vol.31, n.62, pp.266-282. ISSN 2314-2766.  http://dx.doi.org/https://doi.org/10.24215/23142766e150.

The Malvinas confrontation highlighted a new reality as well as the vulnerability of our Latin American countries not only in economic matters but also in security matters. Therefore, although we lost the war, we cannot lose sight of its teachings, especially the ones showing us the fragility of Latin America.

In this work we intend to portray a vision of the Anglo-Argentine conflict over the South Atlantic islands, around Venezuela’s unconditional support for Argentina in its territorial and maritime claim of the Malvinas, South Georgia, and South Sandwich islands.

Keywords : Malvinas war; south atlantic islands; latin american integration; venezuelan solidarity.
