Abstract
MOREIRAS, Stella Maris. Probabilistic analysis of the variables that impose conditions to the slope instability in the Las Cuevas and Mendoza river valleys. Rev. Asoc. Geol. Argent. [online]. 2009, vol.65, n.4, pp.780-790. ISSN 0004-4822.
Using a probabilistic model, parameters conditioning the slope instability were analysed along the valleys of Las Cuevas and Mendoza rivers. For that, the landslide inventory map and thematic maps of several parameters were crossed in a GIS allowing to calculate the favourability value and the certainly factor for classes of each variable considered in the model. Better variables predicting slope instability are the lithology, the slope range, and the elevation. Incorporation of more variables does not increase significantly prediction of the applied model. Moreover, certain variables reduce the quality of the model. The identification of those variables with greater predictive capacity lets to approach the behaviour of the slope in this portion of Central Andes.
