Abstract

GANDULLO, Ricardo  and  FAGGI, Ana M.. Syntaxonomical interpretation of wetlands from northwestern Neuquén Province, Argentina. Darwiniana [online]. 2005, vol.43, n.1-4, pp.10-29. ISSN 0011-6793.

This work describes the structure and composition of plant communities from four wetland located in the Copahue Provincial Park (Neuquén Province, Argentina). The study was performed according to the method of the Zürich - Montpellier phytosociological School. Plant communities were distributed along an altitudinal gradient within the inferior montane belt, ranging from 1,400 to 1,800 m, and relationships with the superior montane belt wetlands (1,800 to 2,300 m) were established based on their floristic composition. Four new associations and one subassociation, grouped in the new alliance Juncion lesueurii, arise from the analysis of the syntaxonomical interpretation.

Keywords : Wetlands; Vegetation; Patagonia; Mallín.
