Abstract

THOMSON, Roberto F .; BUSTOS-WEISSER, Jimena  and  LOBOS, Gabriel A.. El Ánade Real (Anas platyrhynchos), potencial especie invasora para Chile. Hornero [online]. 2015, vol.30, n.1, pp.01-05. ISSN 0073-3407.

Mallard (Anas platyrhynchos), potential invasive species for Chile.- A review of sightings of feral Mallards (Anas platyrhynchos) in Chile recorded between 2003 and 2014 is presented. We report the presence of the species in ten localities. The records report evidence for the reproduction and possible hybridization with native waterfowl species. Aiming to set the need for controlling the species, we suggest the inclusion of the Mallard in the list of introduced species in Chile.

Keywords : Anas platyrhynchos; Chile; Exotic species; Introduced species; Mallard.
