Abstract

RAMIREZ BRASCHI, Dardo. Jurisprudential interpretation of the Argentinian High Court of Justice concerning the Paraguayans pillages in Bella Vista (1865). Folia [online]. 2015, n.24, pp.00-00. ISSN 0325-8238.

In the context of the War of the Triple Alliance (1865-1870) and during the months of Paraguayan occupation and retreat in the province of Corrientes there were significant damage on civilians, some stronger than others, as the case of the town of Bella Vista which acquired extreme dimensions. Once the Paraguayan army left the correntinian territory, numerous claims regarding suffered damages were made. Most of them had only resonance on the administrative competence, but few reached the area of judicial conflict, and sometimes, the most relevant cases were treated by the High Court of Justice of the Nation. The judgments of the argentinian High Court are an evidence of the criteria used by this power of the state regarding cases directly related to the consequences suffered by the civilian population.

Keywords : Corrientes; Paraguay; war; pillage.
