Abstract
FRIGHETTO, Renan. Da antigüidade clássica à idade média: a idéia da Humanitas na antigüidade tardia ocidental. Temas Mediev. [online]. 2004, vol.12, pp.147-163. ISSN 0327-5094.
Late Antiquity (Centurys III/VIII) is characterized as an era of transition between the Classic-Hellenistic period and the High Middle Ages. Indeed, we have noticed some significant structural changes in the political, economical, social and religious fields, showing Late Antiquity as unique and emblematic historical phase. But we have also noticed that the late-antiquite period presents various elements that show the survival and the continuation, through the hiscorical discourse, of ideas, concepts and virtues. In the present text we will keep to the analysis of a concept that appears, directly or indirectly, since the roman republican era until late-antiquite western sources: Humanitas
Keywords : Late Antiquity; politic ideas; humanitas.
