Abstract

We report a new record for Tweedy’s crab-eating rat Ichthyomys tweedii for the Ecuadorian Province of Azuay, about 80 km from the type locality of the species. This record extends the distribution and altitudinal range of the species. In addition, we describe habitat characteristics of the new locality.
