Abstract

The Brazilian free-tailed bat Tadarida brasiliensis is one of the most widely distributed species of bats in Chile, where it is known from numerous records from the region of Arica and Parinacota (18 oS) southward to Riñihue, Los Ríos Region (39oS). We report new localities for T. brasiliensis in Chile, extending the geographical range of the species southward by ca. 600 km.
