Abstract

DE MORAES, Alexandre Santos. Ver para contar: Odisseu, as Sereias e o flerte com a morte. Synthesis (La Plata) [online]. 2018, vol.25, n.2, pp.37-37. ISSN 0328-1205.  http://dx.doi.org/https://doi.org/10.24215/1851779xe037.

It is possible to discuss the meanings of one of the well-known choices of Odysseus in the Sirens episode. In face of imminent danger, the hero chooses to deal with it, rejecting the possibility of safely crossing the way with wax in his ear as suggested by Circe. The article explores this passage by framing it as part of an interpretation of Odysseus as a character who searches for experiences as part of the construction of his own heroic identity.

Keywords : Homer; Odysseus; Sirens; Experience.
