Abstract

SEGGIARO*, Claudia Marisa. Generación y causalidad en Física I.7 y II.3. Synthesis (La Plata) [online]. 2019, vol.26, n.1, pp.51-51. ISSN 0328-1205.  http://dx.doi.org/https://doi.org/10.24215/1851779xe051.

In this work, we are interested in analyzing the articulation between the four senses of cause systematized in Physics II.3 and the notion of generation developed in Physics I.7. With this objective, we will divide the work into two parts. In the first, we will make an outline of the notion of cause, presenting schematically the main interpretative lines on the question. In the second part, we will analyze the four senses of cause –material, formal, motor the end–, displayed in Physics II.3, in light of their relationship with the notions of “generation” (Physics I.7) and of “nature” (Physics II.1) and, therefore, in connection with the three principles: matter, form and deprivation (Physics I.7).

Keywords : Aristotle; Cause; Beginning; Generation.
