Abstract

GONZALEZ, Patricia. Eriococcidae (Hemiptera: Coccoidea) found on Larrea spp. (Zygophyllaceae) in Argentina. Rev. Soc. Entomol. Argent. [online]. 2009, vol.68, n.1-2, pp.115-134. ISSN 0373-5680.

Four new eriococcid species are described and illustrated in the present paper: Eriococcus clapsae sp. nov., E. cuneifoliae sp. nov., E. divaricatae sp. nov. and E. pituilensis sp. nov,. Ovaticoccus lahillei (Leonardi) is transferred to the genus Eriococcus as E. lahillei (Leonardi), comb. nov., and its adult female and first-instar nymph are redescribed and illustrated. All five eriococcid species occur in Argentina and are found on plants of the genus Larrea.
