Abstract

DECANDIDO, Erika. “Saying ‘I’m an organized peasant’ is your politics”. The production of a class and a conflict in the Movimiento Campesino de Córdoba. Trab. soc. [online]. 2021, vol.22, n.37, pp.117-134.  Epub July 01, 2021. ISSN 1514-6871.

This article centers on the work of collective articulation and, particularly, the process through which a conflict and a subject were produced around the category of organized peasant. Also, the political pragmatics that this category structures. Our unit of analysis is the relational space displayed around the Movimiento Campesino de Córdoba (MCC). It will be argued that this process was not automatic and immediate, but it was sustained by social mechanisms that historically supported the configuration of the MCC as a local expression of Latin American peasantry resistance. The research work took a sociological approach and ethnographic tools were implemented. Regarding the field work (2015 - 2016), a combination of various qualitative techniques were used.

Keywords : organized peasants; political categories; political work; peasant movement.
