Abstract
REIF, Luciana. Control and autonomy in the relational process of care production. An analysis in health workers in the province of Chaco, Argentina. Trab. soc. [online]. 2021, vol.22, n.37, pp.543-567. Epub July 01, 2021. ISSN 1514-6871.
In the health field, the process of work has particular characteristics. The existing literature maintains that health professionals have a wide margin of autonomy, which gives them consolidated prior knowledge, making it difficult to control their process of work. On the other hand, the process of work is also characterized by its relational character. This dimension does not exclusively refer to that of health workers with users, but also among themselves. The absence of networks that give meaning to work, that generate feelings of belonging and identity could produce alienated logics, impacting the process of work and the health of workers. We will go through the conceptual approaches, to think about control and autonomy and the relational dimension of the health process of work from the psychosocial risk approach and from the neo-Marxist theories on the control of the work process. Based on their possibilities and limitations, we will explore how the control and autonomy of workers impacts on their intersubjective relationships and on their health, taking as a study reference a sample of health workers from the province of Chaco, Argentina.
