Abstract

MAURO, Karina. Work and performing arts in the City of Buenos Aires. Precariousness and contradictions revealed by the pandemic. Trab. soc. [online]. 2022, vol.23, n.38, pp.163-181.  Epub Jan 01, 2022. ISSN 1514-6871.

This work is part of a larger research that investigates the links between work and arts. On this occasion, we will analyze the situation of performing arts workers during the COVID19 pandemic. We will focus on the assistance policies implemented by the National Government, the economic strategies and the trade groupings carried out by the artists, and the data collection through a series of surveys carried out during the first months of the pandemic. Our main hypothesis is that this context contributed to make explicit aspects already present in the artistic field, such as precariousness and relations of production.

Keywords : Performing Arts; Work; Pandemic.
