Abstract
ZANGARO, Marcela and SZLECHTER, Diego. Recognition and labour: a glance from posfordism. Trab. soc. [online]. 2022, vol.23, n.39, pp.105-125. Epub July 01, 2022. ISSN 1514-6871.
In this article we focus on the logic of recognition that underlies post-fordist organizations. We hold that, as well as in fordists ones, in post-fordist organizations underlies an instrumental use of recognition. Thus, we confront a certain common sense that establishes that the logics of recognition in post-fordists organizations would allow the development of an “authentic” (Honneth, 2006) and self-determined subjectivity. To develop this idea, we first present theorizations about the relationship between recognition and labour. Then, we describe the practice of recognition in post-fordist organizations, its links with job evaluation, the values considered for such evaluation and the subjectivity they promote. Second, we describe the logic of recognition in GAFA organizations. This description is based on a field work carried out between 2018 and 2020 in companies of this type in Argentina, and follows three axes: the role that the so-called corporate social networks play in the dynamics of recognition; the values put into play as criteria to identify a good job or a good worker; and the material and the symbolic aspects of recognition in this type of company.
