Abstract
CHANDIA GODOY, Deisy and NEIRA, David. Systematic review on professional work trajectories. Trab. soc. [online]. 2023, vol.24, n.40, pp.295-315. Epub Jan 01, 2023. ISSN 1514-6871.
This work consists of a review of empirical research on professional career paths. It uses the method of systematic review of articles published in the Web of Science, Scopus and ScIELO databases between the years 2009 and 2020 (enero). This includes five phases; identification, duplicates, eligibility, inclusion, and evaluation of bias. Empirical investigations were included, in Spanish and English, with samples of professional workers. The sample was made up of 13 articles. The results show that the work trajectories professional has certain advantages, however, they assume the same risks and insecurities as non-professional workers. The contexts of economic crisis or the societies characterized by institutional weakness in public policies and the ambiguity of labor relations, cause uncertainty in the subjects and generate precarious labor contexts. The trajectories are not determined only by the actions carried out by the individual in relation to their studies and strategies, structural factors are also determining factors, such as the sector of work activity, among others. Although it should be noted that subjects take responsibility for the course of their careers, they even “naturalize” precarious working conditions.
