Abstract

MOGLIA, Brenda  and  SY, Anahi. Worker's experiencies in healthcare process in hospitals: a meta-ethnography located in Latin America. Trab. soc. [online]. 2024, vol.25, n.42, pp.159-177.  Epub Jan 01, 2024. ISSN 1514-6871.

This article presents a literature review about the health care experiences of public hospital workers in Latin America. The objective is to investigate the complexities of work in the health field. We develop a meta-ethnographic research, that is, a synthesis analysis of qualitative research with the purpose of producing a new interpretation of the studied problem. In this way, a corpus of 36 scientific articles was formed from the searches in the bases of BVS, PubMed, SciELO and Scopus. From the studies found, four lines of argument were formed: 1) about the multiplicity of work scenarios in the hospital; 2) about heterogeneous health care processes; 3) the tensions around biomedicine; 4) the emotions emerging in the hospital. The meta-ethnographic analysis allowed to identify transversal patterns that characterize the work in Latin American hospitals, highlighting the subjective and relational dimensions as organizers of the health care processes.

Keywords : healthcare; hospitals; Latin America; review; qualitative research.
