The following article discusses the military services during the revolt of Hilario Lagos and the siege of Buenos Aires (december 1852 / july 1853) in Guardia de Luján (Mercedes). It analyzes the role of local judges  and the military authorities of the campaign, the instruments used to improve the control and organization of the militia,  and the social resistances.
