Abstract

MIRANDA, Estela. From selection to the universalization: The challenges of compulsory high school level education. Espac. blanco, Ser. indagaciones [online]. 2013, vol.23, n.1. ISSN 1515-9485.

This paper examines recent educational policies and strategies of inclusion in order to respond to compulsory high school level education, raised in the National Education Law, in Argentina. At first, are characterized some features of the socio-historical frame of high school level education to delineate continuities and ruptures that can help us, in a second time, to understand the old and new problems and the recent reconfiguration. At a third step, we focuses on ways that bring into play national education policies, which translated into plans, programs and socio-educational projects, seek to create (or improve) the conditions and possibilities for the access, retention and graduation of adolescents and young people traditionally excluded from this level of educational system.

Keywords : High school level education; social and educational inclusión; compulsory schooling; political strategies.
