Abstract

GIACOMASSO, María Vanesa; MARIANO, Mercedes  and  CONFORTI, María Eugenia. Re-Meaning Young Wealth: Analysis of school experience in the city of Olavarria. Espac. blanco, Ser. indagaciones [online]. 2014, vol.24, n.2, pp.225-246. ISSN 1515-9485.

This paper's main objective is to discuss the implications of heritage education in school from the analysis and reflection of a workshop experience carried out with high school students from the city of Olavarria, Buenos Aires, Argentina. The workshop entitled "Heritage, Tourism and Diversity" was the framework that enabled one hand, identify and analyze certain knowledge and perceptions by a group of young students on these issues, and secondly, to enable a broader debate around the importance of creating spaces in schools to address equity since the local history, civic engagement and the construction of identity. The emphasis on the need to include these perspectives is that these issues have been, so far, barely addressed in school education.

Keywords : Wealth; knowledge; school; youth; citizenship.
