Abstract

PAVESIO, María Victoria. “Who would choose to be poor and live in those conditions?” Magisterial constructions of meaning surrounding children’s families and their part in schooling processes (Rosario, Santa Fe). Espac. blanco, Ser. indagaciones [online]. 2021, vol.31, n.2, pp.287-298. ISSN 1515-9485.  http://dx.doi.org/10.37177/unicen/eb31-302.

In this article we analyze the magisterial constructions of meaning that are generated in relation to the family configurations of children with whom daily they carry out the educational task. Those advances are derived from a socio-anthropological investigation in course, made in a framework of a doctoral thesis focuses on teaching work developed on schools inserted in contexts of urban poverty. The empirical material comes from field work that, since 2016, we have been doing with teachers who work in public schools from different neighborhoods of the city of Rosario. We raise that the magisterial constructions of meaning about the families become understandable from a relational perspective that consider not only those, that no matter how frequent they are, end up naturalizing -“families don’t care”, “families don’t participate”-, but also those constructions that, interstitially, appear in the scene tensing and making more complex those web of meaning.

Keywords : teaching work; magisterial constructions; families; urban poverty.
