Abstract

SASSERA, Jorgelina. Secondary and technical education reforms in provinces of Argentina: an exploration of curricular and institutional recent transformations. Espac. blanco, Ser. indagaciones [online]. 2022, vol.32, n.1, pp.23-36. ISSN 1515-9485.  http://dx.doi.org/10.37177/unicen/eb32-311.

The article addresses recent reforms and critical transitions in secondary and technical education. Over the last decades the reforms involved changes in the structure of levels, cycles, modalities, and in the curricular designs and institutional organization of schools in the provinces of Argentina. These changes are based on a fragmented level and are carried out in provinces with unequal capacities for planning, programming and monitoring of policies. The article explores the organization of curricular designs in technical secondary and secondary education, as well as some of the recent transformations in the institutional organization to understand the scope of these transformations. A question is whether the expansion of the heterogeneity of the curricular designs contributes to the deepening of the segmentation in uneven provincial and local contexts.

Keywords : Secondary and technical secondary education; critical transitions; provincial capacities; educational policies; curricular and institutional transformations.
