Abstract

PERUSSET, Macarena. Education and interculturality: Diversity of meanings, contexts and realities in Latin American highlands. Espac. blanco, Ser. indagaciones [online]. 2022, vol.32, n.1, pp.143-150. ISSN 1515-9485.  http://dx.doi.org/10.37177/unicen/eb32-320.

In this space we will examine the characteristics of three universities of the South American Andean region, specifically Bolivia, Ecuador and Colombia, which were created by organizations of indigenous groups. The analysis carried out will allow us to understand the institutional and historical factors that explain the diversity of these experiences as well as to account for some significant differences in what is meant by the notion of interculturality, a reason of relevance since it is the guide to the work of a growing number of projects in higher education in Latin America. For this reason, we intend to account for some interesting aspects about these innovative experiences in terms of learning modalities, their relationship to practice and the philosophical, ethical and epistemological foundations of their work.

Keywords : diversity; indigenous agency; higher education.
